Balsam Bashing

Currently there are no instances scheduled for this event

Gateshead wildlife needs your help! Himalayan Balsam is a highly invasive and detrimental species. Together we can tackle it with a day of BALSAM BASHING!

Balsam Bashing

Come along and join us in Thornley Woods, on Saturday 22 June from 10am - 12 noon and then again from 1pm - 3pm for an opportunity to make a huge difference to local biodiversity.   It's a great excuse to get outdoors for a fun activity with friends and family, meet new people and do something really positive by getting rid of this invasive plant in and around Thornley Woods.

All equipment is provided but do make sure you have some sturdy and weather appropriate clothing.  There are nettles and other things where will be working and our advice is to not wear shorts or short sleeves, just to be on the safe side.

Our meeting point is the car park by Thornley Woods Visitor Centre/Café, Lockhaugh Road, Rowlands Gill NE39 1 AU

If you would like to find out more information or to let us know you are planning to join us you can email: stewart.turnbull@nationaltrust.org.uk or you can call/text: 07880 278 216.
