Turn up and do - Working with a nature positive focus
Join our Saturday Green Team as a regular volunteer or just join in when you can. Working in partnership with Wild Intrigue, our aim is to offer more than just litter-picks, although these are super important. We also offer activities such as nature positive maintenance of pathways and hedges along the way, tree planting and installing bird boxes.
What we do is guided by the seasons so our activities will change throughout the year. It's a great way to spend time outdoors, enjoy light exercise, and to meet others who, like you, are eager to make a positive impact on Gateshead's green spaces. Just turn up and let's make a difference together!
Each session focuses on a different area, and we usually meet on the third Saturday of each month, from 9:45am for a 10 o'clock start and finish by 12 noon! However, this can change so, please check our website and social media channels to find out the details for each meeting. We've got you covered with tools and PPE.
Next Green Team activity
Bird box installation and litter pick
Saturday 5 April, 1pm to 4pm
For this one we will be joined by Crafted Films who are making a film about the Tyne Derwent Way and they, like us, are keen to capture the amazing work undertaken by our fabulous Saturday Green Team. Meet at Rose Street Entrance What3Words. If you do not wish to be filmed, it is probably best to miss this one out. To let us know you are coming or if you have any questions contact our Volunteer Manager: stewart.turnbull@nationaltrust.org.uk
