Join us for a morning of birdwatching and nature exploration at Gateshead Riverside Park! These guided walks are hosted monthly, offering the perfect opportunity to observe, learn about and help to record the diverse bird species that inhabit Riverside Park seasonally. Whether you're a seasoned birder or a curious beginner, this event is suitable for all skill levels!
Our knowledgeable guide from Wild Intrigue will lead you through the park's woodland, sharing insights into identifying birds by sight and sound. Throughout the walk we'll record the birds we encounter to better understand how wildlife uses Gateshead Riverside Park. These records will also be submitted to the North East Environmental Records Information Centre (ERIC), which will help to better understand and protect our local wildlife into the future.
These monthly events are free and open to all to attend. No booking is required, just come along to the meeting point (Pipewellgate Car Park) for a 9am start. The exact meeting point can be found on What3Words.
We will take a slow pace each morning to enjoy the birdsong, however please note that there are steep gradients in Riverside Park.
