About the Riverside Window Walk
What
Riverside Window Walk is a simple idea - create your own window art and leave your light on! Then, after dark, over the weekend, people will go out together to view the window designs from the pavements along the riverside and throughout the streets. All artworks will be visible from the pavements so there is no need to go into people's gardens.
When
The weekend of the 1st and 2nd of March, after dark each evening; with drop in venues open on the Saturday evening between 6pm and 8pm for refreshments. We will be hosting free workshops in the weeks before the event to get you started with some ideas, tips, and free materials. We'll provide inspiration and advice and would love you to be part of it.
Who
Anyone and everyone can take part, making a window display and/or walking out to see them.
If you don't live on the route but want to take part you could make something for The Staiths Café. This year's theme is Roots to the River and the interpretation is up to you!
In partnership with Big Local Gateshead and of course, local residents!
