TDW in Blossom - Breakfast Talk and Walk: Woodland Birds
Start your day with a hot drink and danish pastry while discovering the wonderful woodland birdlife of Gateshead Riverside Park.
Join local naturlaists, Wild Intrigue, for a morning of brews, brekkie and birding.
Come along to The Tyne Derwent Way Staiths' Space for an relaxed, illustrated talk on local woodland birds, and discover the different ways which Gateshead Riverside Park benefits different species. From a welcomed feeding ground for Chiffchaffs returning from Africa, to a precious nesting site for spider-web wieving Long-tailed Tits, and a perfect hunting ground for Sparrowhawk. With the celebration of North East in Blossom underway, we will particularlly explore and discuss the diverse values of fruit-bearing species such as Bramble and Hawthorn.
Before the talk begins, you're welcome to grab a hot cup of coffee or tea, and a tasty danish pastry to enjoy while hearing all about the local wildlife.
Afterwards, borrow a pair of Wild Intrigue's binoculars, and we'll take a short stroll through woodland neighbouring the Staiths Space where you can learn tips on identifying the birdlife through their calls.
